This is the local paper for the Beaufort-Mackenzie Delta region of the Northwest Territories. Communities covered by the Inuvik Drum include Inuvik, Aklavik, Fort McPherson, Arctic Red River, Paulatuk Tuktoyaktuk, Sachs Harbour & Holman Island.

Inuvik Drum is recognized as one of the better community newspapers in Canada in its circulation class and has been a consistent winner in regional and national Better Newspaper competitions.

Based in Inuvik where it is considered to be the local newspaper, the Inuvik Drum also focuses on the other Mackenzie delta communities.
