GNWT asks for public help on illegally discarded animal parts near Fort McPherson

Officials with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change are looking for any information on animal parts that were discarded at the Fort McPherson landfill on April 30.

“Wastage of edible parts of prescribed wildlife is a violation of section 54(a) of the Wildlife Act,” reads the notice posted to ECC’s social media feed. “. The investigation remains open.

We are seeking information from the public to assist in this investigation. Please contact local wildlife officers at 867-952-2200 if you have any information regarding the caribou wastage that was reported on April 30, 2024. Reporters will be given the option to remain anonymous.”
