Hope everyone is doing well. Summer is coming, still spring up here in Cambridge Bay. Lots of rain, a little bit of snow occasionally. As soon as the mud dries up Cambridge Bay, residents will be once again cleaning up their yards. With the winds the mud will dry up faster. Looks like summer will be busy once again in and around Cambridge Bay. The Hope Bay project seems to be very busy lately, lots of workers coming in and out of the campsite. People are setting up their summer camps out on the land once again, busy making mipku (dried caribou meat). There are a few ice fishing spots, and people are busy fishing here and there around the island behind Mount Pelly, Kitigak Lake and Third Lake. The hamlet is ready for summer day camps again. A few people are out egg hunting. Lots of ducks and geese are flying by, caribou are close by heading to their calving grounds. School is out once again for the summer in both the Kullik and Kiilinik Schools. Staff are busy getting ready for summer vacations and preparing for their new students and teachers. This year the Grade 6 graduation was held on June 10, with the awards ceremonies on June 14, which were well attended. The Grade 6 graduates will now be attending high school. Congratulations to all the students who graduated from elementary to high school. Wow! Great news! All the parents must be so proud of their kids. Also to the kindergarten students who graduated to Grade 1! I heard that was a really, really cute ceremony too with their grad hats and all! I can see the parents being very emotional with joy in their hearts for them. I know I will be once my grandson Felix starts going to kindergarten. Have a great summer, kids. Be careful, have a safe holiday. And to the teachers and staff, have a great summer, too. See you all when you get back from a good restful holiday. The honours for this year's school year - for Kullik Ilihakvik and Kiilinik High School - are too many to mention, so congratulations everyone. Remember, school starts again Aug. 19 for both schools. Also our high school students, what a great year it has been for you all. Hope you all have a nice summer, find good summer employment so you can make some big bucks for yourselves. Sleeping in is the best, ah? Our 2009-10 Grade 12 graduates should be on their way to further their education and to follow their dreams! Wish you all the best in the future. You went through so many years of school, now you will be young ladies and gentlemen, going into the world of professions and make it fun also for yourselves. Look after yourselves well; always remember home is where you started with your parents and family around you to support you always. I have known many of you since you were very young little babies; now you are grown up and on your own soon. Remember we are all so proud of you all! When I attended the graduation ceremonies, your principals and teachers were choked up giving speeches and honouring each of you, remembering the good times, and bad times, and also all the fun times. We wish you all well and good luck in life ahead of you as you journey to a new part of your lives. God bless. Home is always a phone call away, or on Facebook or Internet. Happy anniversary for June 18 to Mom-Dad/Nana-Grandpa love DeeJaye, Harley, Tess and King Ty. Happy Father's Day to Robert and Shane and also birthday greetings to the twins, Robert and John, on June 21. Happy Father's Day to all the dads and grandpas! Happy Father's Day for our Daddy Kevin Niptanatiak from Kean, Tyra, Nolen and Amy! Happy birthday Jana Angulalik, my girl my angel. Enjoy your special day. Love you so much with all my heart every day to infinity and beyond, love mom, Ty, Teghan, Cyril and Malachai. Happy birthday to my daughter Kimberly in Edmonton, may you be blessed everyday and that your wishes come true. Have the best birthday ever Kingnektak. God bless, from Mom and your nephew Felix.
