YELLOWKNIFER - A tall, muscle-bound RCMP basketball team was no match for St. Patrick high school's men's team in an exhibition game last week. St. Patrick's team dominated an intense game against a well-built team of 14 RCMP members, winning 48-41.

Citizens help clean up the city
YELLOWKNIFER - For the past three weeks people have been meeting at Javaroma to grab a garbage bag and clean up Yellowknife, one parking lot at a time. The initiative was spearheaded by Javaroma owner Adrian Bell and city Coun. Paul Falvo.

Mystery digger leaves 1,000 without phone service
YELLOWKNIFER - A mystery digger is being blamed for a disruption that left more than 1,000 people without phone service last weekend. "I don't know (who cut the cable)," said Bonnie Venton Ross, manager of employee communications with Northwestel. "We're investigating."
