RCMP officer dies off duty near Kugluktuk

RCMP are investigating the off-duty death of a Mountie near Kugluktuk.
The officer died as a result of a snowmobile accident near an area known as Bloody Falls in Kugluk Territorial Park, approximately 20 minutes outside the community, according to an RCMP news release issued Saturday morning.

The police force is sending additional resources to Kugluktuk from Iqaluit. The Office of the Chief Coroner is also involved.

More information will be made available as the investigation proceeds, the RCMP stated.
