Great Slave Helicopters granted bankruptcy protection

Great Slave Helicopters, one of three Yellowknife-based subsidiary companies belonging to Discovery Air, is restructuring its operations and selling assets, stated a Canadian News Wire news release yesterday.

In March, Discovery Air had filed for bankruptcy protection and had been given until July 31 of this year to get its finances straightened out.
The announcement was based on a decision by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to allow creditor protection for the company.

According to the media advisory, Discovery's two other companies – Air Tindi Ltd., and Discovery Mining Services – remain unaffected by the decision.
