Police in Fort Simpson are currently responding to what it's calling an 'aviation incident' that happened Thursday afternoon.
According to initial reports from RCMP, an aircraft was reported to have made an emergency landing on Highway 1. It's not known if the aircraft landed north or south of the Liard River or if it happened near the village itself.
A statement from NWT RCMP stated that the Transportation Safety Board is the lead agency for all aviation incidents. NNSL Media will update the situation when more information is received.
