Hay River RCMP are asking the public to stay away from the 553 area of town, also known as Pine Crescent, Friday morning as it deals with what it's calling an ongoing operation.
Police are asking residents living there to stay inside and shelter in place so officers can do what they need to do without making things more difficult. It wasn't immediately known what police were doing and why they were there.
RCMP are asking people not to post police movements on social media and to report any suspicious activities to them.
