Homicide suspected after missing Hay River man's remains found in High Level

The remains of a missing Hay River man have been found in Alberta's Mackenzie County. 

RCMP officers located the body of Tyler Peterson, 41, in the High Level area on Aug. 15. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton, at which time it was determined the cause of death was homicide. 

Peterson was reported missing from Hay River on July 14. 

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating Peterson's death and will work in collaboration with the NWT Major Crimes Unit.
