RCMP charge man for pointing an imitation revolver

Yellowknife RCMP have charged a man for allegedly pointing an imitation firearm while visiting the city's sobering centre.

RCMP responded to a call on March 6. Officers identified and arrested one person without incident at the downtown location, according to the police.

"The investigation revealed that the suspect had a black revolver, which was retrieved by police. RCMP confirmed that the firearm was an imitation," RCMP state.

Following its investigation, Darren Kenny, 43, has been charged with pointing a firearm, uttering threats against a person and using an imitation firearm as an offence.

"The suspect remains in custody and will appear in territorial court on March 25," the police stated.
