Technology seems to have saved the day in the case of a stolen car.
According to a release from RCMP on Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle had been pilfered from the driveway of a residence on Monday evening. The owner of the vehicle apparently had tracking technology on the vehicle and discovered that the car had left the city.
Officers from the Hay River detachment were able to locate the vehicle in Enterprise after the owner passed along the information on its whereabouts. The vehicle was found a short time afterward in the community and two suspects were later found and arrested. They've since been released on conditions and will appear in court at a later date, which was not published. No charges were announced in the release, either.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a replica handgun inside and the investigation is ongoing.
