Hay River RCMP are investigating a possible case of arson that turned up guns, drugs and cash.

According to a release from police on Thursday afternoon, officers were called to a home in the town at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Once the fire was put out, an insecure firearm was spotted, which prompted police to get a search warrant for what was left of the residence.

Once the warrant was executed, a total of six guns with ammunition, packaged crack cocaine and a total of more than $3,400 in both Canadian and American currency were seized. There was also evidence that this was possibly a house used in the drug trade.

Police are investigating and are treating this as a deliberately-set fire. No arrests have yet been made.

If you can help police solve this, you're asked to call Hay River RCMP at 867-874-1111 or submit an anonymous tip online to Crime Stoppers at p3tips.com. In the event of an emergency, call 911.
