Fort McPherson RCMP say they laid five separate charges related to impaired driving in the last 10 days of March.

Fort McPherson RCMP report they have laid charges for impaired driving or refusing to provide breath samples in five separate incidents between March 20 to 30.

An April 8 press release notes that three of the incidents involved drivers of snowmobiles and two were passenger vehicles. In several of the cases the drivers were three to four times the legal limit.

The press release notes RCMP are also investigating an incident near Fort McPherson where an adult on a snowmobile collided with two teenagers on another. RCMP say they suspect alcohol was a factor in that collision but "continue to investigate."

RCMP ask anyone who suspects a driver of being impaired to report it immediately. The press release thanked the individuals who reported the incidents in Fort McPherson and adds anyone who wants to report a suspected impaired driver to call their local RCMP detachment or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or text: "nwtnutips" plus your message to 274637.
