Man in Edmonton hospital after 'aggravated' assault in Inuvik

An Inuvik man has been charged with aggravated assault after a 34-year-old man was airlifted to Edmonton with non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 7:54 a.m. on Nov. 13, police received a call about a violent incident at a residence. A man had checked himself into Inuvik hospital with a serious injury. He was later transferred to Edmonton for treatment, but the injury was non-life threatening.

Police began investigating the assault and arrested a man soon after.

Dustin Travis Rogers, 24, of Inuvik, is facing one charge of aggravated assault. He is scheduled to appear in court in Inuvik on Jan. 24, 2020. Police are still investigating the case.
