Hunters and trappers hosting AGM

The Inuvik Hunters and Trappers Committee is scheduled to host its annual general meeting on Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. The AGM will be held at the Ingamo Hall Friendship Centre. A new board is set to be elected. A lunch and snacks will be provided and door prizes will be awarded.

Story time with Sarah Rogers

A storytelling circle is being hosted Nov. 14 and Nov. 28 by Sarah Rogers and Inuvik Community Wellness at 66 Franklin Road. A light meal will be included and the gathering is open to all. The circle will meet from 6 p.,m. to 8 p.m both days.

Learn to make earrings with Danny Nokadluk

A workshop on how to make earrings out of caribou hide is being hosted Nov. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. by Inuvik Community Wellness and Danny Nokadluk. The workshop is free but is limited to 15 participants. Attendance is open to all and the workshop is held at 66 Franklin Road.

Men's soup and crib night at Aurora College

Every Wednesday starting from 5:30 p.m., Aurora College is hosting a men's soup and crib night. Caribou soup and bannock await anyone who is interested in playing or learning how to play the card game. The event is co-sponsored by the Gwich'in Tribal Council.

Pool repairs finished

Town of Inuvik officials say the leaks that forced the Inuvik swimming pool to close again earlier this summer have been repaired. Work is underway to clean the pool and then the municipality intends to bring in a health inspector to approve it for public use. No reopening date has been set yet.
