Nathaniel (Ned) Day says it's important town council makes the right calls on spending to keep property taxes and expenses down.

1) What made you decide to seek another term on town council?

I enjoy being involved in this, to share my thoughts on many different topics that is shared with me.

2) What have you learned from your last term?

The last term was a very big eye opener to me, again on all the different things that come to the table. So what I have learned is the only way we, as a town, can grow healthy and strong is to get involved, and the more you put out, the better for all.

3) What do you see as the big issues facing Inuvik this election?

The biggest issues, in my eyes, is the high cost of everything and how council has a big part in keeping extra cost down.

4) How do you propose that these issues be resolved?

To help with our rising cost, we have to make the right calls on spending so property taxes and our water bills can stay the same or, fingers crossed, they can be lowered.

5) What is your favourite thing about Inuvik?

Inuvik is my home — this is where I plan on getting old and enjoying life.

6) Anything else you would like to add?

I sat in a few meetings at town in the last couple years and if we as town members can meet with all the different leaders around our town to talk a bit on helping each other out, I'm sure great things can happen for everyone in our town.

The advance vote for the municipal election is Oct. 11 and election day is Oct. 21.
