Jim Antoine, the former premier of the Northwest Territories, will not serve a third term as chairperson of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) Leadership Council.

The Department of Health and Social Services announced on May 24 it was seeking applications for a new chairperson for the Leadership Council. The leadership council is the NTHSSA’s board of management and provides general leadership.

”Minister Green would like to thank the current chair, Jim Antoine, for his six years of dedicated service through the growth and development of NTHSSA, launched in 2016,” a release from the Department of Health and Social Services reads.

Antoine served two three-year terms, from 2016 to 2022. It was not immediately clear why Antoine was not up for a third term.

The deadline for nominations is June 24.
