Three people are facing drug charges after Norman Wells RCMP responded to a 911 call on Feb. 10.

Police say they responded to a call from a residence at 7 p.m. The caller did not say anything to dispatch, but police say “yelling and signs of distress” were heard in the background. The RCMP traced the call to the residence and entered to check on the safety of the people inside.

Upon entering, officers say they saw drug perephernalia in plain view. The Mounties detained the occupants of the residence and acquired a search warrant to sweep the premises.

During the search, police say they seized 18 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia and three replica handguns.

Charges are pending against three men, one from Norman Wells, one from Fort Smith and one from Edmonton.

RCMP are asking anyone with information on this case or others to call Norman Wells RCMP at 67-587-1111 or Crime Stoppers at www.p3tips.com.
