Man charged after firearm discharged at K’atl’odeeche First Nation house party

A 28-year-old man is facing charges after a firearm was discharged during a house party on the K’atl’odeeche First Nation.

Police responded to a complaint in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 20. Their investigation revealed that a man had fired a weapon after a confrontation took place.

Nobody was injured as a result of the firearm being discharged, the RCMP stated in a March 21 news release.

Ryan Beaulieu was subsequently arrested without incident and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, unlawful weapons possession, failure to comply with a probation order, common nuisance endangering life, disobeying an order of the court and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Beaulieu appeared before a justice of the peace and is being held in custody.

His next court appearance is set for April 2.
