RCMP investigating bear spray, firearm incidents in Fort Smith

Fort Smith RCMP are investigating incidents where bear spray and a firearm were discharged.

No one was injured and RCMP say the events appear to be related in a statement issued June 21.

Just after midnight a suspect was observed attempting to discharge bear spray at others near a residence on St. Ann’s Street.

Shortly afterwards, one of the individuals involved in the bear spray incident reported that someone had discharged a firearm into their home located on the same street.

Police responded immediately and began a firearms investigation, which is ongoing.

RCMP are looking for information on the two incidents and are asking the public to report information related to the offences to Fort Smith RCMP 872-1111.
