Two people are facing multiple charges after what Yellowknife RCMP are describing as a masked home invasion on Aug. 24.

Initially, four individuals were arrested after the police responded to a report that masked individuals were attempting to gain entry to an occupied residence in the city.

A handgun was subsequently located and seized after the arrests, according to the Mounties.

Suleiman Abdow, 28, of Edmonton, has been charged with resisting/obstructing a peace officer, three counts of failing to comply with court-imposed release order conditions, mischief under $5,000, failing to comply with probation order conditions and being disguised with intent to commit an offence.

Joshua Desjarlais, 32, of Yellowknife, is facing two counts of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, failing to comply with release order conditions, mischief over $5,000 and being disguised with intent to commit an offence.

Abdow and Desjarlais both appeared before a justice of the peace and were held in jail.

The police released the other two suspects.

The RCMP provided no indication of where in the city the crime occurred.

Yellowknife RCMP’s General Investigation Unit is continuing the investigation.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to contact the Yellowknife RCMP at 669-1111 or Crime Stoppers at http://www.p3tips.com. In the event of an emergency call, 911.
