Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call Aug. 18 to a multi-residential building in the downtown core area. The report described two people who were unlawfully in one of the apartments in the building. The two individuals were arrested.

During the investigation, Yellowknife RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) seized items as part of alleged drug trafficking.

Joseph, Nour of Edmonton, age 27 and Darren Kenny of Deline, age 39, were charged.

Approximately 26 grams of what is believed to be cocaine, a large amount of cash (under $5000), a digital scale, and three cell phones were seized.

“Our Yellowknife RCMP members continue to be vigilant for signs of illegal substances and potential illegal sales and work towards the disruption of the drug trade in Yellowknife,” stated Sgt. Curtis Kuchta of Yellowknife RCMP GIS in the release. “We see the harm it brings to our citizens and we want to reduce that harm.”
