Yellowknife RCMP respond to shooting after man suffers injuries

A man was taken to hospital in serious condition Tuesday following a shooting in Yellowknife during the early morning hours.

The RCMP are investigating and seeking information from anyone in the area where the shooting is believed to have occurred, inside an apartment building on 51A Avenue. It was around 3 a.m. when police were notified that a man had been shot and suffered multiple injuries.

The suspect in this incident has not been located or identified.

Those living along 51A Avenue, 56 Street, 52nd Avenue and Burwash Drive who may have surveillance or door bell camera footage available are asked to contact the Yellowknife RCMP.

“The investigation into this incident is still in its early stages but at this time, police believe this was a targeted incident,” the Mounties stated in a Monday afternoon news release.
