Ongoing pandemic concerns have forced an early end to the farmers market season in Yellowknife.

Several campaign-style signs put up over the last week within the Town of Hay River opposing vaccine mandates and passports and promoting an organization called Canadian Peoples Union appeared to have been removed by the weekend.

The Government of Nunavut has ‘very limited’ staff housing and Human Resources Minister David Akeeagok acknowledged on Sept. 10 that government departments are being asked to prioritize the positions that they advertise as having staff housing a benefit.

Behchokǫ̀ under 14-day containment order

Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Kami Kandola has issued a 14-day containment order for Whatì after 10 probable or confirmed cases of COVID-19 were found in the community, Kandola said in a news release on Sept. 11.
