AROUND THE NORTH: Culture at school

Students at Qaqqalik School learned traditional skills in March, thanks to the Kimmirut District Education Authority.

The education authority hired two elders with the intent to bring more culture into the school.

Elder Elizabeth Itulu taught girls sewing, while elder Mark Pitsiulak taught carving to the boys.

Both elders are known for the excellence and beauty of their work.
