An early morning fire razed a privately-owned home in Iglulik on Tuesday.
The house, which is located near some GN staff units, was not occupied and was only used sparingly by the owner, according to senior administrative officer Greg Morash.
Close to 10 firefighters responded to the fire around 3:45 a.m. and it took them until 10:30 a.m. to fully extinguish the blaze, said Morash.
“It really burned up bad,” he said. “The thing is nobody got hurt.”
The RCMP is assisting with the investigation into the cause of the fire.
