Within two hours, a home on Tundra Ridge in Iqaluit burned down to its pilings Friday afternoon.

RCMP on the scene said no-one was injured.

Smoke billowed from the area beginning around 2:00 p.m., as sirens echoed in the capital. By 4:00 p.m., all that remained left were smouldering pilings.
