A 30-year-old Iqaluit man allegedly selling cannabis outside of a local store on May 1 is facing two charges.

The RCMP have charged the accused with possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking and selling cannabis to an adult. There was no indication of the quantity of the drug in the RCMP’s news release issued Tuesday afternoon.

The man is not being held in custody. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 10.

Although Cannabis is now legal in Canada, Nunavut RCMP would like to remind residents that they can only purchase cannabis from licensed retailers. The Nunavut Liquor and Cannabis website has more details at: http://www.nulc.ca
