The Government of Nunavut has selected Winnipeg-based FT3 Architecture Landscape Interior Design to provide design and construction administration services for three new long-term facilities in the territory.

The value of the tender award remains under wraps, however. The GN is treating the information as confidential.
The Kivalliq and Kitikmeot communities that will each host a 24-bed long-term care centre are yet to be determined, according to a GN spokesperson. Iqaluit will be the site of a 108-bed facility for the Qikiqtaaluk region.
The tender document indicates that the design phase for the projects won’t be complete until early 2020. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2020. Long-term care residents are expected to start occupying the new facilities as of winter 2022 or spring 2023.
