A 13-year-old hunter from Iglulik who went missing on Tuesday night was found by his hunting party around 6 p.m on Friday evening, the RCMP stated.

The teen was safe and in good health, according to the police.

The group of nine hunters had travelled from Iglulik to Itiliq Cove in pursuit of caribou.

A Hercules aircraft from CFB Trenton, Ont., scrambled to partake in the search on Wednesday evening. A helicopter was also called upon to assist.

The Mounties offered thanks to Nunavut’s Emergency Management Organization and search and rescue volunteers from Naujaat and Sanirajak.
