UPDATE: Man charged in Clyde River death

A 37-year-old man is charged with second degree murder after the death of a Clyde River man Feb. 3, RCMP stated Feb. 7.

The Clyde River detachment received the call of a man in medical distress Feb. 1, according to an RCMP news release.

The 66-year-old man died Feb. 3 at the Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit, after first  being treated at the community's health centre. Police were treating the death as suspicious.

Clyde River RCMP investigated, along with the Major Crimes Unit. The Office of the Chief Coroner was also investigating the death.

Th 37-year old has been remanded into custody and will appear before a judge, according to police.
