A man was fatally stabbed by another man in Gjoa Haven during the afternoon of Nov. 16, according to the RCMP.

The police found the victim with a stab wound on the front step of a residence. He was taken to the health centre and his wound was treated, but he died a short while later, the RCMP stated.

The accused was being kept in jail until a bail hearing determined whether he could be released until he appears in court.

The Nunavut Major Crimes Unit, Gjoa Haven RCMP, V Division Forensic Identification Unit, and the Chief Coroner’s Officer continue to investigate the death.
