A man has been charged with manslaughter following the stabbing death of another man in Gjoa Haven on Nov. 16.

RCMP found the victim with a stab wound on the front step of a residence on the afternoon of Nov. 16. He was taken to the health centre and his wound was treated, but he died a short while later, the RCMP stated.

The RCMP’s V Division Major Crime Unit undertook the investigation into the death in partnership with the chief coroner’s office.

The accused is in custody awaiting a Nov. 28 bail hearing in Iqaluit.
