A 44-year-old Cambridge Bay man has been charged with murder and remains in police custody following an RCMP investigation into the death of a 46-year-old man who was found unresponsive in a local residence.

Raymond Komak faces a single count of murder in relation to the case, according to the RCMP, which released the news Wednesday. Komak is scheduled to appear in the Nunavut Court of Justice in Iqaluit in early February.

The police investigation, which is ongoing, involves the Nunavut and NWT major crime units as well as the Chief Coroner’s Office.
