Woman charged after allegedly running over person with ATV

Murder charge laid in Cambridge Bay

A 34-year-old Cambridge Bay woman has been charged with multiple offences after she was accused of striking and seriously injuring a person while operating an all-terrain vehicle.

The incident occurred on Oct. 7, according to RCMP. The victim was medevaced to Yellowknife for treatment. There was no update available on the victim's condition.

The accused has been charged with aggravated assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. She is due to appear in court on  Oct. 23.

The RCMP indicated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
