The NWT Mining Heritage Society is changing its name to the Yellowknife Historical Society. The move comes after the society chose to broaden its scope beyond mining to preserve and promote "Yellowknife's rich history" in general.
The society formed after Giant Mine shut down in 1999 with a mission to collect and display relevant memorabilia.
