Yellowknife residents are being warned to be extra safe out on the ice after at least four people and a snowmobile recently went through the ice on Yellowknife Bay.
A long-time houseboater said he knows of four people who went through the ice near Jolliffe Island while the Great Slave Snowmobile Association posted a photo on Facebook, Dec. 14 of a hole in the ice where a snow machine crashed through the ice.
It is not believed anyone was seriously hurt and it does not appear that emergency crews were summoned for any of the mishaps.
