It’s official – Brendan Green is a three-time Olympian.
Hay River’s favourite biathlon son will be returning for a third Winter Olympics after being named to Canada’s biathlon team that will be going to PyeongChang, South Korea for the 2018 edition. Biathlon Canada announced its roster on Tuesday morning.
Green is the most experienced member of the men’s team, having competed in Vancouver in 2010 and Sochi, Russia in 2014, where he helped Canada to an 11 th place finish in the mixed relay. He also finished ninth in the men’s 15-km mass start that year as well, a remarkable result considering he was coming off two surgeries to fix his spine.
Green was also part of the men’s relay team that made Canadian biathlon history at the 2016 Biathlon World Championships by winning bronze in the men’s 4 x 7.5-km relay.
