The Tłı̨chǫ Winter Road to Whatì will open Friday at 2 p.m. to 8,000 kg of vehicle weight.
A post to the Tlicho Government website asks motorists to watch for depressions on ice on Marian Lake at kilometres 22 and 23 travelling southbound.
Motorists should also watch for heavy equipment working between kilometres 43 and 54 in the Rat Lake area, and for soft areas along edges of portages.
The speed limit throughout the road is 50 kilometres per hour.
