A third party will evaluate the climate in the office of the clerk of the legislative assembly, MLAs have ordered.

The Board of Management said Wednesday an "independent workplace assessment" would be conducted.

The committee of MLAs responsible for goings-on at the legislative assembly fielded complaints about the conduct of House clerk Tim Mercer from MLA Steve Norn, assembly staffer April Taylor and chief electoral officer Nicole Latour in recent days.

"The Board of Management wants to thank employees of the Legislative Assembly for their continued professionalism and their efforts to ensure all (MLAs) are supported when the Assembly resumes sitting next week."
