The Hay River Chamber of Commerce will present its annual trade show next month.

The trade show will take place on Sept. 7 and Sept. 8 in the curling rink at the Rec Centre.

CIBC Run for Our Lives set for September

The CIBC Run for Our Lives is set for mid-September in Hay River.

The run will start at the CIBC parking lot at 11 a.m. on Sept. 15.

The fundraising event is designed to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The money raised during CIBC Run for Our Lives stays in the NWT.

Wrap-up party for reading club

A wrap-up party for the Summer Reading Club at NWT Centennial Library will take place on Aug. 30.

The party, which will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the front lawn of the library, will feature games and prizes to celebrate young readers.

MLAs hold fall caucus retreat

The caucus of the 18th Legislative Assembly met for a three-day retreat in the Monfwi riding beginning on Aug. 22.

MLAs and staff members travelled to Lac La Martre Lodge to prepare for the upcoming sitting of the Legislative Assembly.

"It is vitally important for members to come together for the fall caucus retreat to get us away from the daily distractions," said Julie Green, the caucus chair and an MLA from Yellowknife. "We saw a beautiful part of our territory and benefitted greatly from being on the land for three days."

Green said MLAs always come back from the annual caucus with a sense of renewal and revitalization.

The third session of the 18th Legislative Assembly will reconvene on Oct. 11.

Drop-in table tennis at Recreation Centre

Drop-in table tennis is now being offered at the Rec Centre during regular hours.

Players must check-in at the front desk.

Cancer Sharing Circle to meet

The Cancer Sharing Circle will host its next gathering on Sept. 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at NWT Centennial Library.

The Cancer Sharing Circle is presented by the Karuna Group.
