Police continue to probe sudden death of Tulita man

The “sudden death”of a 51-year-old man in Tulita late last month remains under investigation, RCMP confirmed on Friday.

“Tulita RCMP continue to work with the NWT Coroner's Office in regards to the sudden death,” wrote Const. Heather Cosenzo in an email to News/North.

Mounties in the community discovered the deceased man – identified as Peter Andrew by the territory's chief coroner last week – after receiving a report of a death on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 28.

Andrew was found deceased after officers were dispatched to a winter access road within the community.

The RCMP's major crimes unit, along with its forensic identification team, travelled to Tulita following the late December death.

Police would not confirm whether or not foul play is suspected in Andrew's death.

“At this time their isn't any further information to release,” stated Cosenzo.
