The NWT population decreased by 97 people, or 0.2 per cent, between July 2016 and July 2017, according to Statistics Canada.
Half the territory’s population is below 33.7 years old, which means the population is a little bit older than it was 10 years ago, when the median age was 28.6, but it’s still much younger than the national median age of 40.6.
