On Tuesday Dec. 8, Fort Simpson RCMP received a report of a sudden death along the Mackenzie Highway.
A large excavator had gone into water and the operator is presumed dead, according to a Friday news release. The presumed death is not deemed suspicious.
The RCMP are working with NWT Coroner Service and Worker's Safety and Compensation Commission as the investigation is ongoing.
