RCMP investigating 'sudden death' in Tulita

RCMP are investigating a sudden death in the community of Tulita.

In a news release issued Saturday morning RCMP state they received a report  Friday afternoon of a sudden death of a man on the community's winter access road.

"At approximately 2:50 pm on Friday December 28, Tulita RCMP received a report of a sudden death," states the release. "RCMP members attended the scene on a winter access road within the Hamlet. A 51 year-old male was found deceased."

A major crimes and forensics team have travelled to the community to investigate the death. An autopsy is to be performed by the NWT coroners service during the investigation.

The RCMP have not released the man's name at this time.
