RCMP probe sudden death in Fort Good Hope

RCMP in Fort Good Hope are investigating the sudden death of an adult male.

According to a news release from the Mounties, officers responded to a call for service in the early morning hours on Sept. 3 and found an unresponsive man. He was later pronounced dead by medical personnel, police stated. RCMP is now conducting an investigation into the cause of the death. It is expected that the coroner's officer is involved as well although police made no mention of that. They did state that their major crime, forensic identification and canine units have all arrived in the community to help in the investigation. One media report is suggesting the man was stabbed but RCMP refused to confirm that.

“Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation police will not be releasing any additional information at this time,” stated Cpl. Robert Frizzell, north district media liaison for RCMP's G Division in the news release.

Anyone with information on the death is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
