Salt River First Nations (SRFN) chief Frieda Martselos along with council members Melvin Fortier, Ray Tourangeau, Chris Hunter and council members-elect Warren Gagnon and Warren Sikyea met with Premier Bob McLeod, Minister or Education, Culture and Employment Caroline Cochrane, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Infrastructure Wally Schumann last Monday to discuss issues that will impact the SRFN.
Topics discussed during the meeting included the Taltson Hydro expansion, infrastructure funding, education enhancement funding and impacts of junior kindergarten on the Aboriginal Headstart program.
The groups also renewed the intergovernmental memorandum of understanding at the meeting April 8 for another one-year term.
