The sudden death of a 49-year-old woman in Aklavik has prompted an RCMP investigation.
Aklavik Mounties located the deceased woman at a residence in the community around 8 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report about the death.
RCMP are investigating the death alongside the NWT Coroner Service. A post mortem autopsy has been ordered.
Police aren't releasing any additional information at this time.
