The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) has announced a shutdown of the Taltson hydro power plant.
According the power corp., the shutdown is planned to begin at 8 a.m. on Oct. 12 and end at 6 p.m. that day so maintenance can be carried out on a transmission line.
During the shutdown, Hay River, Fort Smith, Fort Resolution and Buffalo Junction will be run on diesel power.
Oct. 13 is an alternate day for the shutdown in case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances.
