March 5, 1952 - October 1, 2023
Today we are honoring, celebrating, and remembering Joanne Hakagiak Klengenberg who was born on March 5, 1952, and passed at age 71 (October 2023).
My Mother was truly my best friend, and I am humbled by the challenges of describing the fullness of her beauty and caring heart, sometimes I don't know how she does it, but Mom always made the perfect balance between home and work daily for us all. She surely loved camping, cooking, spending time with family and friends.
At a young age, she's helping her parents and siblings by working and baby-sitting, she worked for Education as a Teacher, then Hamlet for Finance, Housing Association as TR Officer and became an Office Manager for Kikiak Contracting, where she moved to start her very own business by opening a supply store for our community which she loved doing, known as JMS Supplies.
She met my Father David Audlatak Klengenberg when she was 15 years old and married him March 1971, my father had passed February 1978. She met my Stepfather Jack Himiak in 1981, 1983, I was the happiest when my mother told me that I will be a big Sister. It was March 1983 when my brother Shaun was born.
She had a magical way of bringing joy every time she walked into a room. Everyone who met her couldn't forget her smile and kindness and I'll never forget the advice and lessons she has taught me. Her wisdom will forever guide me the decisions throughout the rest of my life.
